I am a Co-Founder & CTO of ActivePlace, and a hard working individual who works every day to be the best person that I can be. Having done multiple Tough Mudders, Sparten races, as well as successfully completing group #55 of the KOKORO 50 hour crucible, I'm always looking for ways to put myself out of my comfort zone. My daily cold showers and the promise I make to myself to always say hi to that other person in the elevator are testament to this promise I make to myself.

What I learned at KOKORO #55

Hopefully the photo above gives you an insight into just how difficult, gruelling, and punishing the 50 hours I spent completing KOKORO #55 really were. A year on from the event (18th to the 20th of October, 2019) everything I learnt during it is even more reinforced, and I realise now how the decision to attempt KOKORO was the best decision I m

Having started a completely new sport in January this year, I felt way out of my depth. I came from the sport of boxing where I had 18 years experience and 22 amateur bouts, to a sport where I knew nothing.

It was very humbling to say the least.

Yesterday I received my first white belt stripe, which was given to me for my consisty going week after week, even when I didn't want to go.

If it reminds of anything, it's to never ever give up.

Never give up, such a simple message, sometimes not so simple to uphold!

Anyone been to Killen falls located close to Byron Bay in NSW Australia? Troy Archer I know you likely have. Such an amazing short treck down to the falls and although small, very beautiful.

It's quite surprising that after more than two years since purchasing my first Oura ring, I still rely on it so much for knowing how each day, and each nights sleep is going. Looking at my dashboard just then, I see confirmation of "Staying active" and I smiled knowing just how accurate that is.

Today myself and Cecilia Blakeley walked the King's Cliff Walking Track through a rain forest and down to a beautiful secluded beach. Such an amazing day to be out and active.

I would love to report back on the amazing gym session I completed this morning, with a crazy number of kettle bell swings, pushing, and kipping pull ups. The truth is though I didn't get to the gym. My body didn't feel up to it and I could just feel both my mind and my body needing a little rest, so that's what I did.

The older I get the better I am at listening to myself and knowing what I really need, and although a lot of this is intuition my Oura ring sure helps a little as well.

Not every day we're at our best, that is simply impossible and sometimes it's OK to admit this and just do your best tomorrow.

Another great workout this morning at REVL.

35 MINUTE AMRAP with the target 8 rounds. I got to the 6th but didn't get any further. I'm still sore from my session yesterday and just recovering from being unwell with hay feaver so I'm still proud of my effort.

Happy Monday and a happy start to the week everyone. I have been up since 5am, got my morning gym session in, git the sauna, done my stretching, and had my daily green drink and now the important black drink that goes by the name of coffee.

Here is to a great week!
