I grew up in America with British parents, 3 older brothers and lots of sport in my life. I have 2 grown up boys, my partner John and our fur baby Hamilton. I discovered competitive sport later in life, my first long run was a marathon, my first triathlon was an Ironman and I am all about racing for fun and a good finishers pic! I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and I ultimately I lost my breast to it. However, I got a wicked scar that I’m proud of and renewed strength I’m grateful for. I’m positive, most of the time, and I use my fitness now more than ever to help myself and others deal with life’s obstacles.

MORNING MANTRA

Reading Damien Dau last post reminded me of just how important MY morning ritual is. I will always start off with a positive and strong affirmation which focuses my thoughts and how I intend the day ahead to go. It helps me to overcome the self sabotaging things we tend to tell ourselves. Things like; we are not good enough, not smart enough,

Super powerful Marsha. What we usually tell ourselves is what we are led to believe. So having the right habits around this is super important. Love it !

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.".... Benjamin FranklinSo that's what I did, I got my other half John Brame involved in some lockdown shenanigans. Being constantly bombarded by social media inspiration it was hard not to think, "hmmm....I could do that." Of course John was always less enthusiastic th

A fantastic place to open water swim and just an hour outside of London by car, Hayling Island is a swimmers dream! Clear water with rows of buoys to sight off, and a stunning backdrop of the charming Isle of White, this really is an open water swimmers paradise.

Who me…competitive?

I am very competitive....there I said it! So when I get an opportunity and a spontaneous burst of energy to ride on the front, I ashamedly do. I think all of us who compete in sport have that streak and why not! Competition has helped me focus, has kept me disciplined and is with me like a good friend throughout my training. It has also supported

Never being afraid to put yourself out there and try through “competitive” behaviour is one of the things I tell my daughter.....keep leading!

Challenge Yourself

Finding the perfect back drop for my "handstand comeback' at 5:45am was a challenge, not so much where, but if?? Hyde Park Corner.... easy, The Wellington Arch...perfect, now it was a matter of can I do it? Too many times we doubt ourselves and consequently miss opportunities that could have been amazing for us. Before I had my cancer surgery I li

Climbing the Iconic Mont Ventoux!

Watching the Tour de France, ever year on TV, just makes me want to ride my bike....you know what I mean!? A good mountain climb with lots of beautiful views and a coffee at the top, really is my idea of fun. My most favourite has to be the incredible Mt Ventoux in southern France. 1909 m to the top, 2 different landscapes, forest into
