How do you stay resilient in tough times?
Adversity does not discriminate, whether it be in sport, work or personal life. This Ted Talk is one of the best I have ever listened to on resilience. It is applicable in all aspects of life whilst also being incredibly emotional and real.
One thing that this talk gives us is hope. There are 3 questions that Lucy talked about that you can ask yourself when you are going through an ordeal. These can also be used as strategies to help you navigate through tough times.
A common question among my clients is about resilience and their biggest discovery is that it can be learned. It is important that we start off with 3 important questions:
1. How can you focus on what you can control instead of what you can’t?
2. Is what I am doing/thinking now helping or harming me?
3. Step back and reflect and ask yourself what is really important to me right now?
